Snow Day!!!

Yes, snow in SC! I can't believe after being in TN for 3 months just waiting for a big snow and getting NOTHING I come home and a week later we have snow on the ground. Granted, it wasn't much and it was gone by noon but it was enough to put Connor in his snowsuit and stick him in the snow. So, here are the pics and let me just say that he looks like Ralphie's little brother on "A Christmas Story" in his cute little snowsuit. He really didn't like being bundled up and he definitely didn't like the cold snow but it made for some pretty cute pics :)

8 months old and counting!

Connor was 8 months old on the 17th of this month...where has the time gone?!?! He is such a little man now and is doing so many fun things but he is still saving a few things for daddy when he gets home. He hasn't started crawling yet (one of the things that he is saving for daddy!) but he can roll wherever he wants to go and he has been getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth. Honestly, I am in no hurry for him to start crawling. He keeps me so busy with just his rolling I really am not sure I am prepared for the actual crawling! He eats great and sleeps like a prince...no complaints in either department from me. He has a little gloworm that he sleeps with and once he figured out how to make it light up and play music I have had a few 3:00 AM serenades :) It is pretty funny now looking back on it but not so much at the time! Anything that I put on his tray at meal time he can pick up and put in his mouth. Also, he has learned how to spit out his food so we are currently battling that out. This kid is learning what "no" means at an early age...I am tired of wearing green beans and sweet potatoes on my clothes! We are also introducing the sippy cup but right now he sees it as a fun toy and not so much a cup. He STILL hasn't gotten a single tooth (that is the other thing he is waiting on Ryan for). I have started to worry a little that maybe I didn't drink enough milk during my pregnancy but many people have told me that it is completely normal. I just would have bet money that he would have a handful of teeth by now. Oh well, I guess he will get them eventually (I hope!). He continues to be such a happy baby and babbles all the time. He still says "mama" and sometimes he will say "dada" but those are the only words that I can pick out right now. Other than that our days our consumed by playing with toys, bouncing in the bouncey seat, eating and sleeping. Nothing too crazy here! We expect Ryan home by the end of the weekend so I know that he is going to be so surprised by what our kid is doing now. Connor gets so excited anytime I talk about daddy so I know that he will be glad to have him home too. Here are a few recent pics of Connor:

I jumped on the bandwagon...

and started reading the Twilight series! That was 1 1/2 weeks ago and now I sit here having read all 4 books (and watched the movie too!) and wishing that there were more. Yes, they are that good! After numerous people telling me that I should read them I decided, why not? I must say that I am a sucker for any kind of love story but these books by far were just amazing. I could not put them down! I did nothing except read and take care of Connor. Poor kid, I don't think I have been much fun for him lately. So, my suggestion to anyone who hasn't read them yet...read them! But, like Kelly said, be sure you have nothing else going on in your life because you will not be able to stop. Also, since my original plan was for this series to be my distraction for this month I am open to suggestions of other books to read. Otherwise, these next 3 weeks will just creep by and I will not be able to stop thinking about Twilight.

Connor's first "faux-hawk"!

I have been dying to give Connor a "faux-hawk" since the day he was born! I always try to do it every night after his bath with no luck. However, the other night it finally stuck! I thought it would be appropriate to put him in his future rockstar sleeper since he was sporting the 'do! Here are some picks of my little heartbreaker with his new hairstyle (look how curly his hair is on the ends)!!! He is too cute!!!

Connor learns to clap his hands

Connor has learned how to clap his hands on command! I hate to put it that way, it sounds like he is my dog that I am training, but I really don't know how else to put it. He will clap whenever I am telling him to clap his hands or saying yay! It is pretty cute and I finally got a video of it tonight. He is growing up so fast I can't hardly believe it...he turned 7 months old this past Wednesday. Where has the time gone?!?! My new goal is to teach him to say "dada" before Ryan gets home. We have been working on it a few weeks now and he will say it sometimes but not with any real consistency. He has, however, started saying "mama" but I don't really think he knows what he is saying. Hopefully he will pick up on "dada" before Ryan makes it home...I know that Ryan would be thrilled to hear that as soon as he gets back! Here is the video of Connor's newest trick and sorry that you have to hear me encouraging him in the background! Enjoy!!!

Connor and Maddie

Connor and I recently got to visit Uncle Steve, Aunt Elizabeth (and the twins!) and cousin Maddie in Oklahoma for a little over 2 weeks. We had the best time hanging out with everyone and Connor and Maddie really enjoyed getting to play together. Maddie is going to be the best big sister in just about 8 weeks! We can't wait to get out there again in February or March to see everyone again and to meet the twins! Hopefully we will be able to take Ryan with us for the next visit. Here are a few pics of the kiddos from our trip.

Silly kids! It looks like Connor is trying to be funny like Maddie!

Hanging out with Uncle Steve!

Connor loved Maddie's swing...I guess that will be a purchase in the near future!

So sweet!

Watching cartoons! Too cute!
